Spending Limits
Well coming from a teen myself i think there are many things parents can watch out for. To start off let your kids have some freedom because they to need a vacation away from you probably like how you want one away from us. On board there are many places kids can rack up a whole bunch of charges like i did my first cruise. For example the BIG one is in the arcade. Since the arcade is located right next to the kids program (location on most RCCL ships), it is easily accessible from the kid activities. The arcade games can range from .25-2.00 per play but most games are around 1.25. Now can you see where kids can go wrong? The next big one is in the Computer Areas on-board. In most of the newer ships kids/teens have their own area to use the Internet at a special price of .30 per minute. Kids will log on a check their facebook or myspace and before you know it they've been on for 30 minutes which translates to alot of money. There are also different areas of the ship where kids can rack up a bunch of charged like Johnny Rockets, drinks, and the gift shops. Talk to your kids about spending limits and if you dont think that will work you are allowed to cut of charges to your child's seapass.
Curfew
On your Royal Caribbean cruise the captain will have set a 1:00am curfew for guests 17 and younger. This means every passenger under the age of 17 must be back in their staterooms after 1:00am. I for one likes to hang out with friends a little bit pass 1 and i know many other kids do too. My parents let me stay out pass the 1am curfew as long as im not running around the ship. Security rarely has a problem with kids who are just sitting in the teen facilities talking and not causing problems. They will though get very upset and will yell at kids who are running around the ship past 1 creating problems. My parents tell me check in when i get back to my cabin by calling their stateroom. Also they say if security has a problem to just call it a night at that time.
